METER TECHNICIAN

The Town of Ahoskie is seeking Meter Technician in the Public Works Department. Duties include reading water meters which are mostly radio read, replacing and checking water meters, turn on and off services and assist Public Works is over areas. Main St. Minimum Starting Salary $31,579 DOE/Q plus state managed retirement plan, 5% contribution to 401k, health, dental, vision and life insurance, first year accumulate paid leave of 12 sick days, 12 vacation days and 12 holidays. CUSTOMER SERVICE CLERK PART-TIME

The Town of Ahoskie is seeking a part-time Customer Service Clerk. Duties include processing payments, answering the phone and assisting customers. Applications are available at www.ahoskienc.gov or at Town Hall 201 W. Main St. Minimum Starting Salary $15.42/hour for 17.5 to 20 hours per week. Hours can be flexible but will be between 8:30 and 5:00 Monday-Friday. Open until filled.

PLANT MAINTENANCE SPECIALIST

The Town of Ahoskie is seeking Plant Maintenance Specialist to work at the Ahoskie Wastewater Treatment Plant. Duties include trouble, diagnoses and repair equipment failures. Provide maintenance and upkeep of equipment include electrical and instrumentation systems. The applicant must obtain a grade three WWTP operators license from the NC Water Pollution Control System Operators Certification Commission within four years of employment. BUILDING INSPECTOR/CODE ENFORCEMENT

The Town of Ahoskie is seeking a Building Inspector/Code Enforcement officer. The applicant must have a level 1 probationary certification in plumbing, electrical, mechanical and structural issued by the NC Dept of Insurance and obtain a standard certification in all four areas within two years of employment. It will also be required as part of the employees’ career plan to obtain level III certification in all four areas in a reasonable amount of time. The position performs building inspection on new construction and remodeling and rehab properties. The position will also provide code enforcement throughout the town. Depending on certification and level of certification and experience plus state managed retirement plan, 5% contribution to 401k, health, dental, vision and life insurance, paid sick, vacation and holiday leave. HR & PAYROLL SPECIALIST
 
The Town of Ahoskie is seeking an individual to fill the HR & Payroll Specialist position. The position performs administrative and paraprofessional work supporting the human resources, payroll functions of the town, and accounts payable. Preferred education and experience are associate degree in human resources management, business administration, or related field and administrative experience working in a human resources or payroll office, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
