WATER & SEWER MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN

The Town of Ahoskie is seeking an experienced and qualified Water & Sewer Maintenance Technician. Duties include semi-skilled and skilled work along with other crew members in the installation, replacement, repair and maintenance of water and sewer lines, and the maintenance of wells, utility plants and lift stations. Experience with the operation of construction equipment, a valid NC Driver’s License, and a Class B CDL or ability to obtain within six months of hiring required. METER TECHNICIAN

The Town of Ahoskie is seeking a qualified Meter Technician. Duties include locating and reading meters (mostly radio read), replacing meter reading equipment, meters and meter boxes and associated equipment. Technician will work with utility billing staff for connection and disconnection of services, leak detection, and any other related meter issues.  Technician will assist with repair of water and sewer lines and service calls as needed. Technician is subject to on-call work after hours and weekends.  A valid NC Driver’s License, and a Class B CDL or ability to obtain within class availability after hiring, and ability to obtain Collection, Distribution and Well Certifications required. The Ahoskie Police Department is now accepting applications for full-time Police Officers. Starting salary is $45,278 for certified police officers and $39,113 for non-certified police cadets plus state managed retirement plan, 5% contribution to 401K, health, dental, vision and life insurance, paid sick, vacation and holiday leave.
