The Ahoskie area has 18 diversified industries including poultry, caskets, wood products, sawmill, wooden pallets, peanut processing, recycled steel, commercial printing, newspapers (printing and publishing), logging camp and contractor, ready-mixed concrete, aluminum products, feed mill, plastic bottle caps, and rebuilding car parts.

There are several excellent industrial sites adjacent to the town limits of Ahoskie.  These sites vary in size from 10 to 400 acres.  Some of the sites are adjacent to railway facilities, and all are served by good highways.  The factors considered in the selection of these sites include appearance, availability of property, five or more acres of relatively level and cleared land, accessibility of major routes of transportation, and availability of utilities.
