Temporary Signs
(Bandit/Snipe Signs) – Temporary signs often with metal poles for support.
There is overlapping authority between local governments and the N.C. Department of Transportation when it comes to the regulation of Temporary Signs in the Right-of-Way
No temporary sign may be located within a public right-of-way or within 30 feet of the centerline of any public thoroughfares.
A sign permit is required for signs to be placed within the town limits. Election and Real Estate signs of a certain size are exempt.
